For this reason honeycomb materials made of aluminum, fiberglass and advanced composite materials have been used in the Aerospace industry since the 1950s.

Honeycomb Sandwich panel is a sandwich type composite panel with a honeycomb core and two face sheets made of fiberglass, aluminum, high pressure laminate, stone, porcelain, stainless steel or other materials as diverse as natural leather. The cell size of the core may vary depending on the project requirements. This allows manipulating the density of the panel and its mechanical strength.
